The easternmost city of the Gargano promontory is located within the National Park halfway between Peschici and the enchanting coast of Mattinata. Vieste preserves a medieval historic center, a charming maze of narrow streets and houses from the past marked by characteristic souvenir shops and craft shops. It is worth exploring the ancient village, visiting the Castle and the Cathedral and reaching Piazzetta Petrone, a splendid viewpoint on the coast. The Pearl of the Gargano enchants with its silver-pink beaches, crystal clear waters, long strips of sand, high cliffs and 26 sea caves. Here the sea also ends up in a museum in the collection of the Malacological Museum with more than 15 thousand shells from the world. The coast is a succession of coves among which Vignanotica, the beaches of the Castle and San Lorenzo, the Bay of San Felice with the "architello" on the sea and Punta Lunga are unmissable. After an afternoon at the beach, even dinner smells of saltiness in the trabucchi, ancient structures dedicated to fishing, today spectacular little restaurants suspended over the Adriatic.
