Thematic Route of Epirus Coast
The thematic route of “Epirus Coast” includes several port points in Epirus Coast. The route’s theme focuses on the most important coast side urban centers of Epirus (Igoumenitsa, Parga & Preveza), and its most magnificent beaches laying between the urban centers. The tour starts from the Town of Igoumenitsa
Igoumentisa is a coast town in north west Greece, capital of the Regional Unit of Thesprotia, and the first in traffic port for western Greece, and second nationwide after Piraeus. The town is suitable for long walks, running in the beach or mountain, and athletic events. You can also visit its archaeological museum with exhibits from historical age till the Byzantine period. Moreover, the town is a developing cruise destination with lots of cultural and natural attractions.
In a distance of 3 km, you can visit the beach of Drepano, a sandy beach that extends for about 4 kms, with shallow and crystal-clear waters. The beach starts from the homonym camping and ends in the Makygialli spot. Alongside the beach you will find lots of taverns to eat and seaside clubs to enjoy yourself. Moreover, in lots of places you can rent umbrellas or sunbeds.
The second station, is the Syvota’s marina. In the marina’s vicinity, you can visit the area’s blue flags beaches, “Mega Ammos”, “Agia Paraskevi” & “Karavostasi”. Alongside the beaches you will find lots of taverns to eat, bars and seaside clubs to enjoy yourself.
The 3rd station of the route is the Valtos beach, is one of the most cosmopolitan beaches of Parga. You can enjoy the full view of Valtos beach from the old city of Parga.
The luxurious hotels, the high-quality tourism services, the historical castle of Parga in the landscape, the night life of the town, the large options of bars and restaurants make Parga & Valtos beach, a unique holiday’s destination.
The 4th station is the Kerentza bay, a beach that has an appeal that traces back to the myth of “Odysseia”, as it was chosen by the king of Ithaca, in order to avoid the wrath of gods. The visitor can enjoy the myth combined with beauty of the natural landscape. Lots of camper van visitors choose the beach, as the area is ideal for alternative tourism enthusiasts and for exploration with boats & surf boards.
The guest may also visit in a small distance radius (under 15km), the beaches of Alonaki, Skala.
The 5th station is the Lygia’s port. Here, the visitor can walk to the Lygia beach. It is a 4 km sandy beach, where you can enjoy swimming and address all your accommodation needs in the small homonym settlement.
In a distance of 10 km, you can visit the beaches of Vrachos-Loutsa and Artolithia.
As 6th station, stand the Kastrosykia beach, which is the first beach in the Municipal Entity of Zaloggo in the Municipality of Preveza, that became organized for its visitors.
Its shallow waters and light constant breeze, make the beach, ideal for sea board and sailing activities.
The amphitheatrical landscape of the beach offers a privilege view of the coastal zone of Preveza area and Paxoi islands, with a unique sunset.
In short vicinity, you can visit the more cosmopolitan beach of Kanali.
Mytica’s port is the 7th station. In the vicinity of Myticas port, is the Pharos beach.
It is a sandy beach with fine sand and dispersed pebbles, that deepens steadily. There are some sunbeds and umbrellas in the beach. In 500 m you can also find the aesthetic forest of Myticas.
Next to the beach, is the touristic settlement of Myticas, where you can find bars, restaurants and hotels to accommodate any needs. You can also enjoy the neighbor beaches of Monolithi and Kalamitsi.
Last station and ending the route is the Preveza’s marina. Preveza it a town and a port of Epirus. It is placed in the most south point of Epirus, beside the Amvrakikos entry. It is the capital of the Municipality of Preveza, and of the Regional Unit of Preveza. You can visit lots of cultural attractions here, and due to recent road infrastructure, tourism has exponentially increased in the last years. In the town center and seaside, you will find numerous bars, restaurants, bars e.t.c, to enjoy yourselves.
Moreover, you can visit all the neighbor beaches of the town, such as the Pantocrator beach, the Kalamitsi beach and Cyane Coast beach.
